LATEST XBOX 360 GAMES 2012

Here comes the latest  XBOX 360 games to satisfy all those XBOX gamers. These are on the top of my list so I'll just keep this blog updated for more games. Let's start:

#1

Conceived as a trilogy (perhaps to continue on afterwards in future games), the third chapter to Mass Effect will hopefully deliver a thrilling and conclusive (but not too final ... we wouldn't want the adventure to end at just three games) capper on the Mass Effect storyline. Expect more explosive gunplay, more plot twists, more memorable characters, more heart-wrenching choices, more scenic vistas of beauty and majesty .

If the Mass Effect games excel at one thing, it’s scale. Every time you fill the boots of Commander Shepard, you’ve got an entire universe to explore, a mystery to unravel, and millions of people to save (after, of course, you scan this planet for Iridium). With the upcoming third installment, BioWare is looking to make the definitive Mass Effect experience, combining the second game’s refined combat with many of the deep role-playing elements that fans loved in the first title. And of course, you’ll be getting a dynamic, branching story that’s affected by the decisions you’ve made in prior games.

For the first time in franchise history, Mass Effect 3 will also be offering multiplayer support. In a Horde-inspired co-op mode, you'll be able to create your own character and team up with your friends to save the galaxy from the impending Reaper threat. The time you spend in co-op will even help the outcome of the single-player story, though it's entirely optional if you'd prefer to go it alone.

Battle with your comrades or even your own friends in this all-out galactic war to take Earth back. With co-op online multiplayer missions new to the Mass Effect universe , you can choose from a variety of classes and races, form an elite Special Forces squad, and combine weapons, powers and abilities to devastating effect as you all fight together to liberate key territories from enemy control in this third entry of the epic intergalactic RPG franchise.

Action RPG franchise The Witcher, based on Polish author Andrzej Sapkowski’s popular book series, has been a hit with critics and gamers alike, though the first two games have only seen release on the PC. That’ll be changing next year, when developer CD Projekt RED brings The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings to the Xbox 360, complete with a substantial content update.

The second installment in the RPG saga about the Witcher, Geralt of Rivia, features a thoroughly engrossing, mature storyline defining new standards for thought-provoking, non-linear game narration. In addition to an epic story, the game features an original, brutal combat system that uniquely combines tactical elements with dynamic action.

A new, modern game engine, responsible both for beautiful visuals and sophisticated game mechanics puts players in this lively and believable world. A captivating story, dynamic combat system, beautiful graphics, and everything else that made the original Witcher such a great game are now executed in a much more advanced and sophisticated way.

The Enhanced Edition of The Witcher 2 adds a variety of extras on top of the blockbuster game release. Included is a soundtrack audio CD containing in-game music, a Quest Book for both novice and experienced role-playing fans, a World Map, and a detailed Game Manual. Also packed in are 3+ hours of new content and new gameplay and story elements.

Tomb Raider delivers an intense and gritty story of the origins of Lara Croft and her ascent from frightened young woman to hardened survivor, armed with only raw instincts and the physical ability to push beyond the limits of human endurance. Superb physics-based gameplay is paired with a heart-pounding narrative in Lara's most personal, character-defining adventure to date.

Lara Croft has been rebooted more times than a buggy computer, but Crystal Dynamics’ latest reimagining does a whole lot right. A prequel, Tomb Raider sees Lara Croft younger and much less experienced, shipwrecked on a mysterious tropical island. You’ll being the game with almost nothing, forced to scavenge for the items you’ll need to survive and escape.

For the first time, the franchise will be incorporating open-world elements, with portions of the island blocked off until you can find or build the tools needed to continue. An increased emphasis on combat and a grittier, less fantastical tone help make Lara feel like less of a witty superhero and more of a vulnerable, fleshed-out human being. That bodes well for the plot, which might well succeed where the earlier games found themselves mired in cheesy mythology.

Max Payne 3 is the third installment in Rockstar Games Max Payne series and is set eight years after the events of the last installment. No longer a cop, Max is close to washed-up, drunk and addicted to painkillers. Without a job on the force, Max has left the greater New York area, and finds himself in Sao Paulo, Brazil, working as private security. The story of Max's descent from vengeful, leather-jacket wearing detective roaming the alleys of New York to the broken, shaven-headed man out for justice on unfamiliar streets far from home is at the center of Max Payne 3. In addition to Max's classic shoot-dodge moves, there is now a combination of Natural Motion's Euphoria character behavior system and Bullet Time to enhance his moves. Partners and sidekicks will play a large role in this game to help Max in his quest for vengeance.

Max Payne might be ditching the luscious head of hair and New York City setting that made gamers fall head over heels last generation, but his trip to Sao Paolo is bringing enough new features and to make it a worthy sacrifice.

The series’ trademark bullet time is back and more polished than ever, while the set pieces are dramatically grandiose in ways the earlier games never dreamed of. A bus chase through crowded South American streets? Check. Destruction that does everything from chipping away at wood to obliterating an entire hallway? Check and Check.

Rockstar will also be including a multiplayer component that can hopefully capture the elegance of the single-player’s gun ballet. Now if only they’ll include a DLC wig for Max.

A re-imagining of one of gaming's most storied and beloved franchises, XCOM combines the strategic core of the groundbreaking franchise with a suspense-filled narrative and distills it into a tense and unique first-person shooter experience. The game depicts humanity's struggle against an unknown enemy, putting players directly into the shoes of an FBI agent tasked with identifying and eliminating the growing threat. True to the roots of the franchise, players will be placed in charge of overcoming high-stake odds through risky strategic gambits coupled with heart-stopping combat experiences that pit human ingenuity -- and frailty -- against a foe beyond comprehension.

XCOM hasn’t exactly won over fans of the original franchise with its shift from turn-based isometric tactics to first-person shooter, but 2K Marin has made a concerted effort to update the franchise in a way that captures the strategic spirit of its predecessors while shifting the genre to something more accessible to modern gamers.

Having seen the game in action, I’d say they’ve pulled it off. The E3 2011 demo was the second most impressive showing of the expo and certainly the most surprising. In a revolutionary move for first-person shooters, you’ll be able to select which individual missions you send your squad on via a campaign map, and your prioritization will have an impact on the outcome of the story. Head to the wrong front too often, and you might find victory slipping from your grasp.

By setting the game in a first-person perspective, players will be able to feel the tension and fear that comes with combating a faceless enemy that is violently probing and plotting its way into our world.

Minecraft revolves around one simple principal: survival. The game is split into day and night cycles. During the day, you spend time gathering resources, whether it be searching for ore, digging holes, fishing or planting crops. Night is spent either indoors, mining underground tunnels, building tools or running around outside being chased by monsters.

Minecraft has to be one of the most perplexing success stories of all time. An unknown Swedish developer by the name of Markus “Notch” Persson releases an alpha build of a simple new PC sandbox game with little in the way of promotion or fanfare. Fast forward two years, and that game, Minecraft is the most hyped indie release of all time, selling over 3 million copies while still in beta and allowing Persson to found his own development studio, Mojang AB.

That made the announcement that Minecraft will be coming to Xbox Live Arcade big news. But will 360 gamers really want the game as much as their PC counterparts? You bet your ass they will. Don’t believe me? A shameless knockoff by the name of FortressCraft has managed to become the most successful game in the history of the Xbox Live Indies store, grossing over $1 million for its creators. Once Mojang gives gamers the real deal — complete with a robust set of enemy mobs, craftable items, and achievements — expect it to blow up faster than a Creeper standing next to your beloved mansion.

Borderlands 2 was a game of excess, with an infinite supply of randomly generated weapons, a massive world to explore, and a heaping of DLC packs that expanded on both fronts. What it didn't have too much of was great storytelling or a satisfying endgame.

It is the epic sequel to the ultimate four-player role-playing shooter loot fest. Combining invention and evolution, Borderlands 2 features all-new characters, skills, environments, enemies, weapons and equipment, which come together in an ambitiously crafted story. Players will reveal secrets, and escalate mysteries of the Borderlands universe as they adventure across the unexplored new areas of Pandora.

With next year's sequel, Gearbox is looking to fix those problems while simultaneously bulking up on everything that made the first game great. Borderlands 2 will explore new regions of Pandora, and this time they'll all be interconnected, rather than a series of discrete areas separated by cumbersome loading screens. To keep co-op fresh, they're introducing four brand new characters to replace the old set, each with their own weapon proficiencies and unique set of skills. They've only announced one of these new faces so far, Salvador the Gunzerker, who has the ability to dual wield any weapon in the game.

There's still plenty to learn about Borderlands 2 before it hits stores sometime in 2012, but with as many hours as we poured into the first game, it's hard not to be excited about whatever Gearbox has planned.

The third game in the popular Bioshock series, BioShock Infinite breaks away from the underwater setting of the first two games to take players into a floating city held aloft by dirigibles. The game is set in 1912. You play as Booker DeWitt, a disgraced former private detective who's picked up a new case. Your goal is to find Elizabeth, a young woman who's gone missing and return her unharmed. The only problem is that she's being kept on this flying city. Columbia was once a symbol of America's success as a nation, floating around the world as a traveling World's Fair, a marvel of human innovation. But strange things have happened since Columbia's unveiling in 1900, and now the city has disappeared into the clouds. DeWitt knows how to find it, but over the years stories have been told about Columbia having unlawful heavy armament and deranged citizenry. Do not expect this to be a pleasure cruise.

Accompanying the new locale are a host of substantial changes to the gameplay experience. While you’ll still rely on the same blend of firepower and superpowers, you’ll be doing so with the aid of a skyhook, a new device that lets you swing about on Columbia’s railway system to rapidly navigate through the game’s massive outdoor arenas. You’ll also be escorted by Elizabeth, a mysterious young woman with the power to alter the fabric of reality at your command. All this is underpinned by a radical new AI system that alters the pacing of storytelling to suit your actions in the game world. With a strong pedigree and the promise of serious innovations, BioShock Infinite looks like a game to watch out for.

Grand Theft Auto V, like every other Rockstar Game, will be "done when its done" but we've a pretty good feeling it'll be released in 2012. Given the state and the quality of its recently revealed teaser trailer, and the fact that Grand Theft Auto V is being developed for the current generation Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3, there's little doubt it'll make it out next year before any new consoles are announced, much less released.

Grand Theft Auto V will take players back to Los Santos, which appears to be a sort of retcon of San Andreas, featured in the earlier GTA title of the same name. Designed as an analog of Los Angeles, players take on the role of former criminal, whose attempts to turn away from his life of crime lead him back to where he started. The old adage proves true—once a thief, always a thief.

Like Red Dead Redemption and Grand Theft Auto IV before it, GTA V has serious undertones, with a story that hinges greatly upon the current economic inequality facing most citizens of the United States—or the 99%. It goes without saying that Rockstar's undertaking will be their greatest one yet.

Halo 4 is the next blockbuster installment in the iconic franchise that’s shaped entertainment history and defined a decade of gaming. Set in the aftermath of Halo 3, Master Chief returns to confront his own destiny and face an ancient evil that threatens the fate of the entire universe. Halo 4 marks the start of a new trilogy that begins with its release in 2012.

Though the Call of Duty franchise may have long since dethroned Halo as the 360’s most popular online shooter, all the soldiers and terrorists in the world can’t match Master Chief and company for sheer creative will. With its rich universe bursting with otherworldly landscapes, beautifully intimidating foes, and imaginative alien technology, Halo 4 makes our list largely on reputation.

That’s because details about the game have been hard to come by. We do know two important facts: Halo 4 will mark the beginning of a new story arc Microsoft is calling the Reclaimer Trilogy, and it will be the first game developed without series creators Bungie.

In a lot of ways, Halo 4 will be a proving ground for the franchise’s new caretakers, an internal Microsoft studio called 343 Industries. If they can pull off the perfect blend of action and storytelling that made the first few games wildly successful, we’ll have plenty more adventures with the Chief and Cortana to look forward to.

There you go XBOX fans! Hope you like it. I'll keep y'all updated. Thanks for stopping by.
